After the retirement of Dr. Juan F. Arratia from Academia on July 30, 2018.  Dr. Arratia dedicated his time to advance the Scientific Caribbean Foundation, Inc., (SCF) mission, implementing the after school program, Saturday Research Academy for economically disadvantaged K-14 students from Puerto Rico and around the world.
